CALA HOMES PRESS RELEASE

CALA HOMES SITE MANAGERS WIN NATIONAL HOUSEBUILDING AWARD

July 14 2008

A CALA Homes West project manager and site manager have scooped awards in the prestigious national house building awards for developments in Glasgow and Larbert.

Robert Lafferty, site manager at CALA’s Wallacefield development in Robroyston and Graeme Stewart, project manager at Kinnaird Village, Larbet, have received National Housebuilding Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job awards.

From over 18,000 site and project managers, the two Glasgow winners were selected and are now in the top 30 in Scotland.

Robert, who has over 21 years experience in the building trade and five years with CALA Homes, said: “This award is all about team work and is a testament to people who are committed to driving standards up at Wallacefield.”

Project manager Graeme, has 22 years experience in the building industry, with seven years as a site manager said: “It’s an honour to achieve this award, but I am happier for the team that their hard work has been recognised.

Kinnaird Village is a large and busy development with 170 units and because of its scale and range of home types which includes contemporary apartments, townhouses, detached and semi detached homes, it requires extra attention to detail and quality.”

The Pride in the Job awards sets out to raise standards in new house-building by examining good working practises including health and safety, management skills and the ability to motivate staff to produce the highest quality new homes.

Brian Johnson, CALA Homes West, director of construction, said: “The award seeks out the best site and project managers in developments across the UK and is a fantastic accolade. It’s wonderful that two of our managers have won and in the current market it serves to highlight that CALA is committed to delivering quality homes across its developments.”
