CALA Homes Press Release

ONE REMAINING HOME LEFT AT EDINBURGH'S GREENBANK

August 5 2008

One of CALA's largest brownfield regeneration developments in Scotland, the award-winning Greenbank Village in Edinburgh, has just one remaining home for sale.

The £1.175 million five-bedroom Thornville is the only home still available at the prestigious development near Morningside in the south of the city.

Greenbank Village, the re-development of the Scottish Capital's former City Hospital, has proven extremely popular with more than 400 refurbished and new build homes sold since the project was completed in 2005.

Offering contemporary living over three floors, the Thornville includes expansive open plan areas, a feature sun foyer, a good sized garden and a large garage.

On the first floor, an en suite master bedroom with a dressing area and a walk-out balcony is complemented by two further spacious bedrooms and a recreation room. The fourth and fifth bedrooms are located on the second floor.

Sarah Stanger of CALA, said: "The ambience of this home is exceptionally light and bright thanks to a stunning galleried staircase and landing within the heart of the home, higher than average ceilings and large windows. Greenbank Drive is a truly special development of only five magnificent five-bedroom homes set within a secluded woodland pocket.

"CALA has forged a reputation for designing luxury homes and this is no more evident than at Greenbank Village, which is now a residential community in its own right.

“We are passionately committed to designing and building the sustainable, attractive communities people want to live, work and relax in and Greenbank Village fits the bill perfectly."

Greenbank Village is set within the Craiglockhart Hills Conservation Area near desirable Morningside.

At the heart of the development lie the grand refurbished ward buildings of the former hundred year old City Hospital which previously occupied the location. A collection of contemporary apartments and mews homes, three storey family homes and large detached properties complement these magnificent refurbished 'Victorian Mansions'.
