CALA Homes Press Release

CALA TARGETS EX-PATS IN DUBAI

August 5 2008

CALA Homes has launched a drive to attract ex-pats from the Middle East to its exclusive Archerfield development by Gullane in East Lothian.

The award-winning premium house builder joined forces with international property consultants to showcase Archerfield at a four day event in Dubai.

CALA Archerfield formed part of a major exhibition and forum featuring exclusive properties from a range of countries including the UK, Spain and Cyprus.

As Scotland faces a lack of mortgage liquidity, which is hampering the housing market, CALA believes there is a significant appetite among ex-pats living in regions such as the Middle East to purchase a second home or investment property.

The visit was co-ordinated by the Edinburgh office of MacKenzie Macmillan, an international consultancy specialising in marketing key real estate projects to global private and corporate investors.

Sarah Stanger, of CALA Homes, said the Dubai marketing initiative attracted considerable attention from ex-pats: “We were delighted with the significant interest from ex-pats in Archerfield. This represented an excellent opportunity to showcase CALA's Archerfield to a key market. In these challenging times, it is becoming increasingly important to target potential buyers outside the usual channels.

“With the lack of mortgage liquidity hampering the housing market, initiatives such as the Dubai trip enable us to widen our reach and showcase the opportunities available."

Gavin Kynoch of MacKenzie Macmillan said: "Archerfield reflects the vast array of property investment opportunities on offer in the Lothians.

"The right homes and the right product in the Lothians are still proving popular and this is borne out by the excellent feedback from those who attended the exhibition."

Archerfield comprises 15 detached homes situated on the magnificent Archerfield estate.

CALA recently launched a new show home, a five-bedroom detached executive home named The Russell.

The home features three public rooms, and a conservatory and is priced at £1.25 million.

Brought to the market by arguably the country’s most successful developer of executive homes, CALA’s magnificent properties at Archerfield nestle within 500 acres of outstanding natural beauty. At the heart of the estate lies a private members' golf club with not one but two new world class golf courses with panoramic coastal views and the magnificent listed and recently refurbished Archerfield House.

The two championship standard golf courses extend over some of the best golfing terrain in the world and offer glorious views of the stunning landscape including the 12th century Dirleton Castle, Dirleton Kirk, Berwick Law, the Isle of May and the Isle of Fidra, which reputedly inspired Robert Louis Stevenson’s ‘Treasure Island’.
