CALA has unveiled a stunning new showhome from two of Scotland’s top designers at its Kinnaird Gardens development in Larbert.
Renowned interior designers, John Amabile and Carol Yates of Glasgow-based Amabile Design have added their magic to the five-bedroom Inglewood housetype and created a truly stunning home.
Set within historic Larbert, close to the town of Falkirk and just 10 miles from Stirling, the development is CALA’s first phase within Kinnaird Village – a new community in the making which will feature a high street with local shops, landscaped spaces ideal for children to play and woodland walks.
John Amabile, also famed for his 60 Minute Makeover television programme, said: “There is an abundance of space and light in the home and this has allowed us to use bold colours throughout to create a modern and chic home which is both ideal for family living and entertaining.”
“The Inglewood is a very impressive space and it was great to work with this amount of floorspace.”
John feels the home will appeal to those with an eye for detail and those looking for a chic family home.
The ground floor of this detached 2,464 sq ft home features a spacious dining area which leads through to a large formal living room. In the dining and living areas John Amabile and Carol Yates have taken muted pallets and added the wow factor through a striking injection of colour.
In the living room, bold metallic colours of fuchsia pink and zesty lime green have been used in the prominent feature wall of thick horizontal stripped wallpaper. Striking walnut furniture has been combined with neutral comfortable sofas.
“We have used lots of expression but with a restrained look through the bright colours which are ideal for the coming summer nights. We have added contemporary walnut furniture and large lounging sofas with an oversized feature mirror to create a modern yet practical room.
“What we wanted to show was that you don’t have to be afraid of colour and that there is so much more than the popular cream on cream colours.”
In the open-plan family living area and kitchen the designers have continued the use of the clean zesty lime tones and when combined with the neutral cream creates a calm and warm ambience. Cream high gloss kitchen units complement the interiors. The home features a European designer kitchen from the Impuls range by ALNO, and includes stylish integrated stainless steel appliances from Siemens.
A comfy sofa and chair with lime green accessories and a dining table by the French doors creates a perfect entertaining and family space, and leads onto a decked area and garden. A separate utility room gives access to the integral garage.
Upstairs, a lavish master bedroom features a luxurious dressing area and en-suite with his and her sinks. In this room, the designers have created a “hotel boutique chic” look and used a combination of velvet and indulgent textures.
A bespoke oversized silver headboard creates a luxurious and decadent look. The designer has combined neutral tones of cream and beige and muted mink with silver and chrome accessories and walnut furniture.
The landing leads onto four further bedrooms one with en-suite, a separate study and a family bathroom. Each of the bathrooms features stylish, contemporary sanitary ware from the Laufen range complemented by Hansgrohe taps and fittings.
The children’s room has been transformed into a princess room with a feel of French reproduction with white furniture and bright pink furnishings. In another bedroom, rich teal and silver colours are combined with mirrored furniture to create a stylish and relaxing room, making it ideal as a guest bedroom.
In the hall the boutique chic continues with striking velvet flocked wallpaper with oversized print again featuring the white and zesty lime. This unique home also features a fifth bedroom on the upper landing, making it ideal as a retreat for the family or as a guest room.
Linda Peter, Sales and Marketing Director for CALA Homes West said: “In addition to the development’s excellent location and specification, CALA is offering a host of incentives to help homebuyers who are keen to move but who feel the current financial climate is preventing them.
“We believe there is something for everyone at Kinnaird Gardens but we think the new showhome demonstrates CALA’s superior style and specification. John and Carol have created something outstanding and visitors are remarking how inspired and enthused it leaves them.”
Kinnaird Gardens features an array of four and five-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses from CALA’s contemporary Capital Collection.
The development is situated a short distance from Scotland’s major motorway network with connections to Glasgow and Edinburgh and the mainline rail station at Larbert.
Prices at Kinnaird Gardens start at £199,950*, with a range of incentives currently available.
