Miller Homes Press ReleaseMiller’s on the Home Run at Colville WyndMay 11 2010
Combining a highly accessible location, enviable square footage and a very competitive starting price, it’s no surprise that Miller Homes’ Colville Wynd apartment development in Carfin is fast approaching sell-out. As the award winning housebuilder nears the finish line, it is clear that the size of the properties, at an impressive 800 sq ft and the release price, from only £76,000 with the company’s shared equity initiative MiWay, have captivated the interest of first time buyers in the area. Mature downsizers have also been keen to buy a property at the development. Many are enjoying an increased disposable income through the pricing of the properties, whilst also benefiting from the space and convenience of a home that doesn’t compromise on size. Anne Marie Britton, sales director for Miller Homes in Located off As a builder of some 75-years standing, Miller knows exactly what its customers want. From the outset, visitors to Colville Wynd quickly became purchasers, having been won over by the stylish and contemporary layouts as well as the fashionable fittings and fixtures. The interior of each property offers a spacious lounge with elegant double doors that lead into the dining kitchen, which is rare in apartments – as the dining area is often situated within the lounge. However, only too aware that the kitchen continues to remain the social hub of most households, Miller was keen to ensure that this was not a design aspect exclusive to houses only. Each apartment also features two double bedrooms, including an en-suite master, as well as a main bathroom, ample storage space and a roomy entrance hall. A company doesn’t remain a leader in its field for over seven decades unless it’s renowned for delivering the same standards of excellence. Styles and fashions may change, and can be incorporated into the design process, but quality and best practice endure. Each apartment at Colville Wynd provides an excellent specification throughout, including elegant lighting, fully fitted kitchens, complete with oven, hob and cooker hood, and contemporary bathroom suites. And buyers can feel secure in the knowledge that every element has been put in place by the hands of dedicated craftsmen. Originating from the Gaelic word ‘An Carn Fionn’, meaning small town, Carfin has managed to retain its village feel, yet at the same time also provide every day needs for its residents, from shopping to schooling. With Carfin Railway Station close to hand, it offers a hub for trains to Glasgow city centre. Road links from the town to the M74 and M8 offer easy access to Motherwell, Hamilton and Edinburgh – increasing the appeal of this location to the commuter market. Prices at Colville Wynd are currently released from £95,000, which is currently £76,000 under MiWay*. With MiWay, buyers simply arrange their own finance for 80% of the purchase price and Miller Homes provides a loan to make up the other 20%. The customer still owns 100% of the property from day one and has nothing to repay for up to 10 years. After 10 years, or when they sell or transfer their home, the buyer simply pays back the 20% of their home’s market value at that time. 0% interest is payable for the first five years and 3% interest is payable for the next five years. As an alternative to MiWay, Miller Homes’ Deposit Match* initiative is also on offer, which is exclusive to Miller’s developments in Scotland. Aimed at those potential buyers who have begun saving for a deposit, they will be able to double whatever they have saved up to 5% of the price, when purchasing a house from Miller. If neither of these incentives adheres to the buyers needs, the company has introduced a stamp duty holiday across all of its current developments* in Scotland until 9 May 2010, giving buyers at Colville Wynd a third option to consider.
