Miller Homes Press Release

MILLER’S NEW SHOWHOME IS A HIT IN FIFE

May 11 2010

Following the launch of a brand new showhome in March this year, visitors have been flocking to Miller Homes’ Regents Park development in Crossgates. The stunning Conrad showhome has proven to be a massive hit with would be house buyers, especially those keen to pick up interior design and style tips.

Every aspect of the Conard has been thoughtfully considered with the family buyer in mind, particularly those wanting to upsize to a larger home. Meticulous attention to detail, from the size of the property, to the layout and flawless finish ensure that this is a home that has the flexibility to change with the needs of its buyers over the years. A fresh and welcoming living space, the Conrad is the ideal home for those looking for the perfect place to settle and firmly plant long-term roots.

The Conard has been designed to an impeccably high standard, with an interior finish that truly showcases what can be achieved with a property of this style. Miller’s interior design team has used a clever contrast of ebony and ivory in the lounge, delivering a chic and comfortable home that you can truly relax in.

A black two-seater sofa and chair blend perfectly with the soft mocha carpet, and an individual taupe armless chair, styled with matching cushion, works to complement the black-high gloss side tables and side-board.  The main feature wall of the lounge has been decorated using quality horizontal stripe wallpaper, again bringing together the two main theme colours of black and cream.  This is a room that is equally  perfect for family evenings and also grown up gatherings when the children are tucked up in bed.

Moving into the dining room, buyers are met with a stunning black high-gloss dining table with seating room for six people.  An intimate setting, the dining table is already set for a supper party, where tasteful tableware and an elegant candle centrepiece make an attractive focal point, ensuring that diners will want to stay seated into the wee small hours. Complemented further by vibrant crimson panelled blinds that frame the French doors leading directly out into the garden, residents will be proud to play host in this luscious setting.

In the kitchen fitted walnut units, black worktops with tan flecks, and graphic polished floor tiles work in unison to create a truly welcoming visual effect.  A well-appointed living area, the kitchen boasts floor-space in abundance.  On viewing, buyers are sure to appreciate the superior quality of the fixtures and fittings, as well as the perfectly placed breakfast table for two, ideal for reading the Sunday papers while sipping morning coffee.

Miller Homes has ensured that convenience has been paramount in the design of the Conrad, which is evident on discovery of the home’s separate utility room, added storage cupboards in the hall, a downstairs WC and single integral garage, all of which only serve to further enhance the appeal of this charming residence.

Anne Marie Britton, sales director for Miller Homes in Scotland says:  “With our new Conrad showhome, we feel that buyers can get a clear picture in their heads of what they can do with the vast space available in this style of home.

“Since its recent launch, we have received rave reviews from a number of visitors who have already expressed a keen interest in the home.  This is exactly what we anticipated as it’s one of our most popular housetypes owing to its well-planned layout.”

Upstairs, which is accessed by an attractive staircase, potential buyers can peruse the property’s four well-appointed bedrooms.  In keeping with the colour scheme of the home, all four of the bedrooms have been styled to reflect a natural flow from room to room.

The master bedroom, whose new resident will have the privacy of an en-suite shower room, is as convenient as it is attractive.  With a fusion of silver and gold padded bed coverings, and a headboard that features all three of the accent colours of red, taupe and black, this room is ready and waiting to become a tranquil haven to its stylish new owner.  Again natural walnut, which has been cleverly incorporated throughout the showhome, is featured in the bedroom cabinetry, contrasting with the modern black glass tops of the units. This combination by Miller’s design team successfully creates a fashionable fusion of traditional and modern elements, bringing a contemporary twist to the master bedroom.

Introducing a country feel to the property is bedroom two.  Styled using checks and tweeds and a mix of warm textured linens, this sleeping quarter becomes the perfect rural retreat.  Additionally, like the master bedroom, bedroom two is also privy to a separate en-suite shower room.

Moving on to bedroom three, buyers will appreciate a subtle change in décor.  Greys, blacks and silvers mixed with leather cushions and mirrored furniture, and framed prints of the iconic Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, all fuse together to transform this room into a beautiful boudoir.

Bedroom four, located at the rear of the property, boasts striking features including a black high-gloss bedframe, styled with ebony cushioned bedcovers with two large quilted pillows, one in red and one in charcoal.  The wallpaper in this quirky living space is a medley of cream and scarlet lampshades, while framed images of Christian Louboutin shoes evoke memories of a scene from the box office hit, The Devil Wears Prada.

Completing the top-floor of the Conrad is the main family bathroom.  An exceptional size, the bathroom has been decorated in keeping with the classic theme of the home.  Black textured wall and floor tiles with chrome trim contrast perfectly with the brilliant white bathroom suite, creating a crisp chic look, all pleasing to the eye and easy to maintain.

House hunters at Regents Park can opt to purchase their new home under either the developer’s Part Exchange scheme, or Movemaker package, which differ slightly, but have the same goal, which is to make the buying process as easy as possible for Miller purchasers.*

Located on the southern fringes of Fife, and just a few minutes’ drive from the Forth Road Bridge, Regents Park is a peaceful development that’s ideal for commuting to the city and beyond, owing to excellent road and rail links in and around the village of Crossgates.

In the village, residents benefit from a local newsagent, public bars and a post office.  Additionally, the neighbouring town centre of Dunfermline offers a wide selection of retailers, including supermarkets, butchers, bakers as well as a plethora of quality speciality shops.

For those looking more in the way of leisurely pursuits, Regents Park is within close proximity to fantastic walking and cycling routes in the beautiful Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline.  Known locally as ‘the Glen’, the park sprawls a magnificent 76 acres of grassland, ponds, nature walks, play areas, glasshouse and museum.

Furthermore, only two miles from the development’s ‘door step’ is a leisure centre, which boasts a swimming pool, health suite, football pitches and small theatre.  Also, the Carnegie Leisure Centre in Dunfermline, is in the process of undergoing a £17m redevelopment, and will soon offer locals a choice of bowling and golfing facilities.
