NEW JOBS AND NEW SITES FOR MERCHANT HOMESScottish developer building on strong foundations in 2012January 24 2012
Award-winning Scottish house builder Merchant Homes is investing over £25m in new developments across West Central Scotland – and is looking to take on 12 new recruits as the company continues to thrive. The company is hiring talented new staff in a variety of positions – from site managers to sales executives – to meet demand for several new developments announced for the region in 2012. Plans for new developments have been unveiled for Stevenston, Nitshill, East Kilbride and Gourock. Work is also already underway in Bellshill to build 16 one and two-bedroom apartments in collaboration with Clyde Valley Housing Association. New tenants are expected to pick up the keys to their new home around autumn 2012. Work is already well underway on another project for Clyde Valley Housing Association, with 31 two bedroom apartments within Motherwell town centre being handed over in summer 2012. In Stevenston, Merchant Homes will build 20 two and three-bedroom semi-detached homes on a desirable town centre site, with work commencing in the Spring, while in Nitshill a fantastic development of 49 two and three bedroom semi-detached homes and three bedroom detached homes will also be built. This Summer will see building work begin in East Kilbride, with five luxury four bedroom detached villas and 14 executive two bedroom apartments. Merchant Homes will also reveal plans for a future development in the beautiful surroundings of waterside town Gourock in late 2012. Launched in 2007, at a time when the housing industry hit tough times, the quality of Merchant Homes’ developments, along with the expertise of its highly experienced team, has ensured the Glasgow-based company continues to thrive. In 2008, Merchant Homes consolidated by expanding its portfolio to work with a number of housing associations across Scotland. With a commitment to building quality, spacious but affordable apartments and homes, the company has also helped almost 100 people get on the property ladder through the New Supply Shared Equity (NSSE) scheme. Alan Brander, Managing Director of Merchant Homes, believes it’s an exciting time for the company. He said: “The building industry has faced a challenging time in the past few years, but we’ve bucked this trend, and are going from strength to strength with four new developments already in the pipeline for 2012. “Our success is due to the exceptional quality of our homes, whether for a family-of-five with a busy social schedule, or a young professional looking to get their first step on the property ladder. “As a result we are now looking to take on new recruits. We need site supervisory and site support staff, as well as sales executives and a surveyor. “If you’d like to work for a company that provides the best quality housing, coupled with a commitment to enhancing local communities and a drive to succeed, Merchant Homes is for you.” Interested applicants should visit www.merchanthomes.co.uk for more details, or call 0141 420 2026. |
