CALA Press Release

A FESTIVE TASTE OF ITALY WITH CALA HOMES

December 10 2007

CALA Homes gave a real taste of Italy last week, when it launched its new showhome with an exclusive Christmas event at Archerfield in East Lothian.

The housebuilder linked up with Edinburgh-based Flavours of Italy, which specialises in cookery holidays, to bring Chef Simone Carone over from Tuscany to demonstrate how to make the perfect pasta.

Also on hand were representatives from Rocco Venezia, which produces gastronomic goods from just north of Venice, to offer guests prosecco and wine tasting and a selection of luxury Italian goods.

The event took place in CALA Homes’ sumptuous Halyburton showhome, one of 15 luxurious CALA properties at the 500 acre Archerfield estate.

A prize draw was also held, the proceeds of which were donated to the Muirfield Group of Riding for the Disabled.

Group chairman of the Muirfield Group of Riding for the Disabled, Susan Law of said: “We are really pleased to see CALA Homes supporting the local community and are delighted with this donation.”

About CALA at Archerfield

Brought to the market by arguably the country’s most successful developer of executive homes, CALA’s magnificent properties at Archerfield nestle within 500 acres of outstanding natural beauty. At the heart of the estate lies a private members' golf club with not one but two new world class golf courses with panoramic coastal views and the magnificent listed and recently refurbished Archerfield House.

The two championship standard golf courses extend over some of the best golfing terrain in the world and offer glorious views of the stunning landscape including the 12th century Dirleton Castle, Dirleton Kirk, Berwick Law, the Isle of May and the Isle of Fidra, which reputedly inspired Robert Louis Stevenson’s ‘Treasure Island’.

Each of CALA’s five bedroom properties has been designed to reflect and complement this extraordinary setting, with many offering aspects over the Dirleton golf course. With individual house names such as Halyburton, Churchill, Roosevelt and Asquith, each property reflects the rich history of the estate including the roll call of aristocracy and heads of state who have visited over the centuries.

Prices at CALA at Archerfield start from £995,000.
