Springside Press Release
High demand at The Foundry as Edinburgh rental market flourishes
December 3 2013
Only seven apartments still available at capital development
With the initial phases all let off-plan, The Foundry development at Springside has now released the final flats to the market to give prospective tenants the chance to move in before Christmas.
The apartments are being marketed by DJ Alexander with demand fuelled by tenants seeking a longer-term alternative to home buying.
The homes let to-date have been snapped up by a diverse range of tenants, from retirees looking to release capital and young professionals working in the city, including Paul Pryor who viewed the show apartment at The Foundry in October and moved in less than a week later.
Paul said: “I knew as soon as I viewed the show apartment that I wanted to live here. This is a completely different offering compared to most rentals in Edinburgh. The majority of properties to rent in the city are old, and it’s difficult to find many with the combination of access to a train station, on-site car parking and the location benefits of living in Fountainbridge.”
Amber Rashid and Bryan Holland chose to rent at The Foundry after living in an older flat in Stockbridge.
Amber said: “We chose The Foundry because of the balcony, location, light and high spec interior. We are both self-employed at the moment so aren’t in a position to buy but this apartment has given us access to the calibre of home we were looking for. It’s unlike other rental properties in Edinburgh and, in every way, is better quality and better value than any other rental we have seen.”
Commenting on the success, David Sivewright, Projects’ Director for Grosvenor in Scotland said: “The level of interest in apartments to rent at The Foundry has been staggering. We had to release the second phase ahead of schedule to keep up with demand and the feedback we are getting from clients is hugely positive. It’s clear that we are providing a much-needed option for Edinburgh city centre - high quality, well managed homes backed by a company with a long-standing and respected reputation.”
Apartments are still available to rent at The Foundry and tenants can make the move before Christmas, with prices starting from £1,150 per month.
The interiors of the Foundry apartments are stylish and contemporary. Furnished apartments feature either dark wood furniture with glass or lighter woods with white furniture, punctuated by varying textiles used for cushions and curtains. Unfurnished apartments are also on offer to suit the needs of a diverse range of potential tenants.
To register interest or to make an appointment to view the show apartment visit www.springside.co.uk/rent or contact agents DJ Alexander on 0131 558 3000.
The Foundry forms part of Grosvenor’s £200 million Springside development which is helping transform Fountainbridge into a vibrant city centre neighbourhood.
