TURN OVER A NEW LEAF AND FALL IN LOVE AT MAPLE HOUSE SHOW APARTMENT

CALA has unveiled its latest Art Deco show apartment at its Canniesburn development in Bearsden – one of Glasgow’s most sought-after residential locations. The latest apartment is one of seven show homes at the development which showcase the varied potential of CALA living – from refurbished apartments and penthouses with stunning views, to new build apartments featuring the very latest in contemporary design.

Canniesburn, a joint venture with Miller Homes, offers a taste of the country with all the convenience of city living - it benefits from sweeping views over the Campsie Hills, Glenniffer Braes and River Clyde and has an idyllic, country feel with the amenities of sought-after Bearsden and Glasgow city centre conveniently at hand.

Canniesburn’s original Art Deco pavilions have been sympathetically refurbished and named after their tree-lined setting. The new show apartment is within Maple House, which has a bright white Art Deco exterior which makes a striking impression as soon as you approach the front door.

Stepping inside the two-bedroom property, the first thing you notice is the generous hall and proportion of the rooms. High ceilings and an exceptionally spacious open plan living-dining area (which stretches across 25 feet) make the property perfect for entertaining.  The large windows ensure that the property is filled with light and it is this feeling of space which inspired interior designer Mandy Stirling of Emily Ross Interiors.

“There is a fabulous feeling of space,” explains Mandy. “The grand scale of the rooms means that we have been able to use very traditional mahogany furniture, set against a palette of clean, bright colours. The apartment showcases how someone who might be downsizing from a traditional family home could use their own furniture in a new apartment and it would still work beautifully”.

Gold and cream provides a classic theme as a backdrop for the mahogany furniture whilst the deep pinks and cream used in the master bedroom again show the wonderful versatility of the apartment. The room features a beautiful mahogany double bed covered with crisp white bed linen with fuchsia flowers. The room is completed by an en suite with shower.

There is a second double bedroom across the hall, again it is a light filled and spacious interior. Decorated in creams and soft greens with chintzy flowers, the room has a bright and fresh feel.

The property also benefits from a separate kitchen by Alno Impuls, incorporating integrated appliances by Siemens and main bathroom with fittings by Laufen, Hansgrohe and Kaldewei completed by Porcelanosa Tiling.

Prices currently start from £193 000 and the Customer Reception and show apartments at Canniesburn are open daily, from 11am to 5:30pm.
