| CALA Homes Press Release - November 11, 2008 |
An innovative partnership between CALA Homes and Graeme High School in Falkirk has been recognised at a prestigious national awards ceremony.
CALA won the Determined to Succeed (Best Business and Education Partnership) category at the Falkirk Herald Business Awards 2008, held on Thursday 6 November.
The award recognises CALA's two-year association with the school, which has resulted in an interactive programme giving pupils a clear idea of the variety of careers and scope for success within the house building sector.
The programme took pupils from the classroom and into the CALA Homes workplace, allowing them to see how their learning could be applied in real situations whilst showcasing the many career routes the construction industry has to offer.
Alastair White, Managing Director of CALA Homes (West) said: "Our association with Graeme High School has been a great working partnership and we are all delighted it has been recognised by winning this top award.
"The link was a very natural fit as CALA was in the early stages of launching the Kinnaird Village development in Larbert. This meant pupils would be able to visit a local development and witness all of the relevant disciplines in action, in a meaningful and visible way, as the site started to take shape and becomes part of the local landscape.
"CALA also stepped forward to sponsor the school prom and the prize-giving, as a goodwill gesture to cement the relationship with the school."

| Manorlane Press Release - November 10, 2008 |
Manorlane’s new Claridges development will soon benefit from excellent public transport links into Edinburgh and Glasgow following the announcement that a train station for the West Lothian village of Blackridge has been given the green light.
The introduction of this crucial link from Blackridge to the east and west of Scotland will bring major economic benefits to the village – with over £3 million being invested in local community services. The station will be on the Airdrie to Bathgate line which is to be reinstated by 2010, making both Edinburgh and Glasgow easily accessible and further adding to the appeal of The Claridges as a highly desirable place to live.
Manorlane has agreed to finance around 40 per cent of the station with the remainder being funded by the Scottish Government. Manorlane has worked very closely with the Blackridge Community Council and Platform Blackridge campaign over the past two years and is committed to doing so going forward.
Part of a thriving community, The Claridges will comprise 462, three, four, five and six-bedroom semi and detached family homes. Inspired by Blackridge’s breathtaking, natural surroundings and traditional architecture, the development incorporates open space and children’s play areas.
The new development has been designed in conjunction with the local community, who were involved at every step of the planning process – including pupils at Blackridge Primary School who helped to design the new play areas. In addition to creating new homes, the development will secure significant benefits for the village, including new retail facilities, with high quality national retail chains already expressing serious interest, as well as a substantial new wildlife habitat zone and landscaped area. All of these benefits have been subject to detailed discussion with the local community.
Ilia Robertson, Sales and Marketing Director, Manorlane, said: “The new rail station heralds the start of an exciting development for Blackridge. The Claridges enjoys a wonderful countryside setting, and both old and new residents of the village will benefit from improved accessibility to larger towns and cities, offering the best of both worlds.”
A sales and marketing suite is now open at The Claridges giving buyers the opportunity to view the site plan and find out more about Manorlane’s distinctive homes which offer luxury living at an affordable level.
Buyers can create even more individuality within their home with the option of creating an additional floor in the roof space or adding a garden room, as well as with the wide selection of options Manorlane provides through its in-house ‘Uniquely You’ design centre.
Externally, each Manorlane home combines warm, red brick and crisp white render with subtly coloured period feature detail to afford a distinguished appearance.
Prices at The Claridges range from £149,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached Houston to £212,995 for a four-bedroom detached Harley.
Manorlane currently has a number of developments across the central belt including The Dukes, Carfin; Saville Row, Motherwell; The Hamptons, Netherburn; and Hermitage, Newton Mearns.

A new show home was unveiled to the public on 5th November, showcasing the luxurious new style. Step through the front door and the first thing that strikes you is the sheer spaciousness of the home. With over 2500sq ft of living space, the rooms have a bright and airy feel to them.
A world of luxury unfolds for you to explore, with sumptuous furnishings in every room and quality finishes evident throughout, complimented by a stylish colour scheme. Stylish printed wallpaper adds character and depth to the room, whilst the striped custom-made central ottoman adds a touch of colour and quirkiness. The large bay window area is framed perfectly by the luxurious Romo silk curtains and matching silk pelmets. Special touches are evident throughout the home such as polished chrome light switches and door handles.
Upstairs, the journey continues. The home comfortably hosts 5 bedrooms, with 2 en-suite bathrooms. Whilst being spacious, the master bedroom has a warm and cosy feel with lots of earthy, chocolate tones. The clean lines of the fine French furniture from Gaultier contrast perfectly with the beautiful print wallpaper, and glittering mirrored furniture adds an extra touch of luxury.

Lara Cairney at Signature Interiors, Glasgow who designed the sumptuous interior explains her thinking behind the design:
“So many show homes are a just one standard colour, they’re so non-descript that you leave them and can barely remember what you’ve just seen. We wanted to create something really memorable, to complement the space and luxury of the Castle range.
We’ve used a warm colour scheme as the base and used special furniture and bespoke furnishings to add splashes of colour and individuality throughout. The result is a decadent, luxurious home which exudes real charm and character.”
Lorraine Clelland, sales director of Persimmon East Scotland says: “The new Castle range of homes represents an exciting new direction for Persimmon, we’re meeting buyers high expectations by setting new premium standards on style and quality. Potential buyers are sure to be impressed by the smart, contemporary interiors, with the spaciousness and superior specification to match.”

| CALA Homes Press Release - November 06, 2008 |
CALA Homes has launched a major drive to attract ex-pats living in Asia to its exclusive developments.
The award-winning premium house builder has joined forces with international property consultants, propertrack.com, to showcase CALA's developments as part of a permanent exhibition hosted by the Kuala Lumpur Retail Property Centre.
Following the readjustment of house prices in the UK and the greater value on offer, especially from new build homes, CALA has received a growing number of enquiries about properties from international investors and UK Expatriates. The leading housebuilder believes there is a significant appetite among ex-pats living in regions such as South East Asia to purchase a second home or investment property.
Having already received considerable attention from ex-pats, Claire Erskine, CALA Group Marketing Manager for CALA Homes in the east of Scotland, believes that the Kuala Lumpur marketing initiative will fuel the interest from international buyers:
She said: “We now live in a truly global property buying and investing community. With low cost international travel, property investment has no barriers, and this is an ideal time to build our reputation across a global audience, particularly across Asia.
"This represents an excellent opportunity to showcase CALA's prime developments to a key market. In these challenging times, it is becoming increasingly important to target potential buyers outside the usual channels.
“With the lack of mortgage liquidity hampering the housing market, initiatives such as this enable us to widen our reach and showcase the opportunities available."

Leading off the hall is the lounge which combines elegance and comfort for a practical room that still has that wow factor. The shimmering neutral wallpaper provides the perfect backdrop for colourful accessories and the room’s striking mirror and artwork. A stylish cream sofa and matching cream armchairs topped with bright striped cushions contrast with the dark wooden furniture creating a suitably dramatic look while maintaining a light, airy feel.
Moving through the glazed double doors, the dining room is perfect for entertaining. While it has its own unique look, it has also been designed to complement the lounge meaning the doors can be left open to provide a seamless space for hosting guests. The beautiful wall coverings feature a subtle metallic pinstripe while the bright floral curtains use the same vivid greens and pinks as in the lounge’s soft furnishings. The French doors leading to the garden offer breathtaking views across the Ayrshire countryside.
The Cumbrae’s sizeable kitchen is sure to become the heart of the home with plenty of room for a dining table for family mealtimes. Contemporary brown wall tiles complement the dark wood worktops and the modern look of the stainless steel appliances is reflected in the minimalist chrome accessories. The window overlooking the back garden is dressed with a cheery striped pelmet for a touch of colour while the separate utility room provides additional storage and workspace.
Upstairs is further plentiful storage space, with three of the four bedrooms boasting fitted wardrobes. The master bedroom is painted in a calming blue with a stunning feature wall of blue and green florals with a touch of silver. The elegant bed with its contemporary dark wood and chrome headboard is a focal point of the room, dressed in cream bed linen topped with a throw of rich turquoise and co-ordinating cushions. The graphic stripes featured on the master bedroom curtains are also used in the en-suite which blends crisp white sanitaryware with neutral stone effect tiling.
With its elegant coffee coloured tiles and modern chrome fittings, the family bathroom wouldn’t look out of place in a top hotel. Flooded with light from the Velux window, the room is spacious and sophisticated with the under sink vanity cupboard offering ample storage space. Accessories have been kept simple, creating an uncluttered haven perfect for relaxing.
The master bedroom’s en-suite and family bathroom typify Dawn Homes’ attention to detail with the showhome giving visitors just an example of the range of personalised finishes available to buyers. The same attention is paid to the exterior with a paved driveway and garden area to the front of the property and French doors opening onto an attractive patio area at the rear.
Martin Egan, Managing Director of Dawn Homes, anticipates great interest in the new showhome:
“There was a terrific response to the first release of homes at The Meadows with over 50% being sold over the launch weekend and the showhome gives buyers the opportunity to see why. We pride ourselves in providing quality properties at reasonable prices and The Cumbrae is a great example of the spacious yet highly affordable family homes we offer.”

With over 20 years experience, Theresa has a reputable track record within the house building industry. Having managed the sales and marketing division for Stewart Milne, she latterly held the role of sales and marketing director at Tulloch Homes.
The company has enjoyed a particularly fruitful year despite market conditions, having been crowned Small Housebuilder of the Year 2008 at this year’s prestigious annual Scottish Home Awards and winning Best Performing Business 2008 (26-250 employees) at Fife’s Business Excellence Awards. The company was also short-listed for the Designing Places award in the Homes For Scotland Quality Awards 2008.
Theresa commented: “I am very excited to be joining Thomas Mitchell Homes at such a challenging time. My remit is to drive sales and marketing and to ensure that our targets continue to be achieved.
“This offers me a fresh challenge and the opportunity to use my skills and experience to complement the Thomas Mitchell team and support the next phase of growth for the company.” |

| Dawn Homes Press Release - September 10, 2008 |
Blending picturesque outlooks with contemporary interiors, the newly launched Riverview phase of Dawn Homes’ successful Linenmill Court development will be welcome news for house hunters looking to escape the bustle of the city whilst remaining within easy commuting distance. This attractive development of one, two and three-bedroom apartments is situated on the historic site of the former Barbush Linen Mill in Johnstone and has been hugely popular since its launch.
In addition to enjoying the idyllic views over Black Cart Water, buyers at Linenmill Court can take advantage of Dawn Homes’ new “Easyway Scheme”*. Available on selected plots at the development, they pay just 85% of the purchase price but own 100% of their property upon completion. The remaining 15% becomes a second loan from Dawn Homes, secured on the property but with no interest or rent, which is repayable when the home owner sells or within 10 years – whichever is sooner.
A two-bedroom showhome is open at the development, its mix of calm neutrals and grown-up sophistication showcasing the apartments’ appeal to both young professionals and mature buyers looking for a property within easy reach of Glasgow. Just fourteen miles from the city centre, Johnstone has become increasingly popular with house hunters in recent years, offering ample shopping and leisure facilities as well as great transport links.
Martin Egan, Managing Director of Dawn Homes anticipates that the combination of views and value for money will result in this new release being even more popular than the previous phase:
“While we always offer buyers more house for their money, the “Easyway Scheme” is designed to give house hunters an additional helping hand in getting on or moving up the property ladder. At Linenmill Court apartment living is affordable but that doesn’t mean it compromises on style with each property displaying the quality finish and attention to detail that people have come to expect from Dawn Homes.”
Prices at Linenmill Court currently start at £112,950 for a one bedroom apartment.
For further information on Linenmill Court, please visit the on-site marketing suite or call the sales adviser, Patricia Conway on 01505 331520. * Terms and conditions apply. |

Cumbernauld has steadily increased in popularity with house hunters in recent years and the town’s central location and close proximity to Croy railway station makes it extremely convenient for those who work in the city centre.
The town itself is well served by educational facilities, with the area’s 15 primary schools and five secondary schools demonstrating its popularity with families. Local amenities, such as numerous sports facilities, shopping centres and plentiful bars and restaurants add to the appeal of the development.
Commenting, Martin Egan, Dawn Homes’ managing director, said: “Cumbernauld is a superb location for those who want a good balance between city life and the countryside. Broomhill Park offers high specification luxury family homes, but our low prices and fantastic incentives make it hugely affordable for younger families. We urge house-hunters to visit the on-site marketing suite to take advantage of our new range of incentives and view a selection of different house styles.”
Prices at Broomhill Park currently start at £245,950 for a ‘Cumbrae’ house style, with discounts of £15,000 on specific plots.
