A range of three and four-bedroom properties remain on sale at homebuilder George Wimpey's Ayrshire development the Harbour despite massive interest in the site.

The firm reports that after being open for only a month, some £2 million worth of new homes have been sold at the site, but notes that a wide variety of homes are available from £137,000.

Michelle Logie, sales and marketing director for George Wimpey West Scotland, comments: "The revival of this pretty west coast town is certainly driving potential homebuyers to Ardrossan, as witnessed with our record sales over the last four weeks."

She advises potential homebuyers to move quickly as consumers are becoming aware of the benefits of living in the coastal town of Ardrossan, where the Harbour is located.

In related news, research by financial services provider Charcol.co.uk recently suggested that an increasing number of couples are choosing to buy their first homes together rather than going it alone.
