A course provided by the National House-Building Council (NHBC) is hoped to further increase the safety of the industry.
The NHBC has announced plans to re-run the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Directing Safely course, intended to educate directors and senior executives of developer firms in how to organise projects.
Taking place in Falkirk on September 18th, the course is designed to give practical guidance on creating an effective health and safety programme.
NHBC's health and safety manager Simon Mantle commented: "Increasing numbers of directors are being prosecuted for breaches of the Act so it is essential that they know what their responsibilities are and how to put the correct measures in place".
Earlier this month the NHBC stated that the new build market had shown moderate year-on-year growth during the three months from February to April.
