Glasgow city council has criticised the Scottish Executive for deterring the city's regeneration, according to a report.
The executive must "show the colour of its money", said the council, which called for the body to fund the break-up of Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) into smaller organisations, reports the Herald.
Central Scotland MSP Alex Neil is quoted by the publication: "Labour has a damn cheek. They set up the GHA against the wishes of the SNP and others who said a landlord with 70,000 tenants was not the way to regenerate housing."
Meanwhile, councillor George Ryan said that, while many improvements had been registered due to the transfer of housing stock to the executive, more autonomy is needed - with funding from the Scottish Executive.
In related news, the news provider recently reported that churches in areas including Glasgow, Pollokshields and Wester Ross are giving up sections of land in a bid to counter the shortage of affordable homes in Scotland.
