The Old Town area of Edinburgh is set to receive a boost in the coming months following the announcement of planning permission for a regeneration project.
While many of the existing buildings are listed and are set to be redeveloped, new build properties complementing those already standing are also planned, designers for the project state.
The development is set to be of mixed use, with both commercial and residential properties emerging around Advocates Close - an area which has previously seen life as council offices for the capital.
To be known as Roxburgh's Court, the Scotsman reports, the new properties will have commercial outlets at ground level with 80 residential units above.
Meanwhile, the commercial property market in the city is also benefiting from inward investment with the £60 million sale of No 1 Quartermile Square to Norwich Property Trust.
