Construction has begun on Western Gate, Barratt West Scotland's newest development.

Interest in the luxury two and three-bedroom apartments being built on the site - located off Great Western Road at Anniesland in Glasgow - has been high, according to Barratt. The former church hall site will boast 40 homes upon completion.

Located close to Glasgow's West End district, residents will benefit from the area's close proximity to many amenities such as galleries, restaurants and coffee houses while still remaining close to the centre of the city.

Prices for the luxury two-bedroom apartments start at £178,250.

Glasgow's West End plays host to the annual Glasgow West End Festival and Mardi Gras parade.
