One in every ten new private homes in Scotland will be built by Taylor Wimpey, following the formation of the company through the merger of Taylor Woodrow and George Wimpey.
The merger took place in July and the newly-formed firm will keep both the Bryant Homes and George Wimpey brands that are already a presence in Scotland, the company has revealed.
"Bryant Homes and George Wimpey are two well recognised names in the housebuilding market. We will take the best aspects of each company and create a business that is ready to meet the modern day challenges facing the industry," said divisional managing director for Taylor Wimpey in Scotland, Andy Wyles.
Mr Wyles that Taylor Wimpey will be able to tackle issues affecting "growth in housing supply, affordability and sustainability" thanks to the resources at its disposal.
According to the divisional managing director, the firm intends to build more than 2,500 homes each year.
This week, the firm also announced the appointment of Mike Naysmith as director and general manager for the George Wimpey north Scotland region.
