Rok 'hopes to be involved' in all new Edinburgh builds

September 18, 2007
Construction and property development firm Rok is hoping to be involved in any future homebuilding in Edinburgh, it has been reported.

In news that may be of interest to those looking to purchase a new property in the region, the Scotsman reports that since the company opened an office in the city in August, Rok has aimed to generate a turnover of £35 million in the capital within the 12 months.

Rok regional director for central Scotland Ian Brooks told the newspaper: "We find that the idea of having offices in local locations works.

"There are lots of local authorities or government authorities that like to employ contractors from the local area and then give the feedback that they are employing local people."

Mr Brooks added that Rok is in talks with the Edinburgh city council about carrying out contractual work for it.

Elsewhere in the city, homebuilder J Smart recently unveiled its Stillhouse development in Dalry.
