Manorlane to create "high-specification" homes near Glasgow

September 25, 2007
Two new developments will see the creation of a selection of "high-specification" four, five and six-bedroom homes south-west of Glasgow, homebuilder Manorlane has announced.

Located at Greenlaw in Newton Mearns, around seven miles south-west of Glasgow city centre, the 30-acre site will add some 170 houses to the Scottish developer's bank of created units.

Ken Ross, chief executive and chairman of land and property group Elphinstone, said that the deal represents a move towards the creation of "much-needed homes" in the area.

Elliot Robertson, chief executive of Manorlane, stated that the new development will "further enhance" the "desirable" location of Newton Mearns.

Work on the creation of homes on the site is expected to begin in June 2008, the firm states, while infrastructure work began in July and is scheduled to last some 68 weeks.

Established in 2004, Manorlane has currently produced some 1,600 homes in locations across central Scotland including Armadale, Blackridge, Netherburn and Carfin.
